The Opportunity

To help us continue to meet and beat our customers’ expectations, our Supply Chain Team is looking for a confident and capable person to be responsible for overseeing our approach to Quality Assurance & Food Safety. 

As the QA & Food Safety Compliance Lead, you will oversee the development and execution of our Quality Assurance and Food Safety Programs. You’ll work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with legislation, drive continuous improvement, and support strategic business goals.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, and based in our Camberwell head office, this is a role where you will really get to make your mark.

• Leading and managing the QA and Food Safety Programs across Australia.
• Conducting supplier audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Developing and maintaining QA risk matrices and testing protocols.
• Managing the Assured Supplier Program and support supplier development.
• Providing technical support to bakeries, operations, and customer relations.
• Coordinating product testing, recalls, and food safety training.
• Collaborating with leadership to align QA initiatives with company objectives.

We’re looking for someone who is a great communicator, is comfortable managing multiple tasks at once, and has a passion for quality and improvement.

Proven experience in a similar role will be highly regarded. As this role will be accountable for bakery and supplier facility audits, we need a candidate who knows what good quality looks like and isn’t afraid to show it! In addition, we are looking for candidates with:

• Proven experience working in the food industry, with particular emphasis on food safety, compliance, and stakeholders’ management.
• Experience with HACCP and ISO based quality systems.
• Internal and external auditor experience.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in a food-related discipline, such as food science, microbiology, chemistry, or food industry management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to get your point across and negotiate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• An eye for improvement and change management, fuelled by a commitment to total Customer satisfaction.
